The Fort Stories

The Fort has partnered with the National Literacy Trust to hold an exciting one-day festival to celebrate reading and poetry on Saturday 14 October. Fort Stories will be aimed at children and young people, but everyone is welcome to join in.

The free event will take place between noon and 4pm and will feature live performances and sessions from local authors and poets. There will be free books and other freebies available for children, teenagers and adults.

The programme includes:

12.15pm-12.45pm: Kate Wakeling (for children aged 4-7)

Join acclaimed local poet Kate Wakeling for 30 minutes of poetry fun.

1.30pm-2.30pm:  G.M. Linton (for children aged 8-12).

Local author G.M. Linton discusses writing, heritage, and her uplifting new ‘Sunshine Simpson’ book series.

2.45pm-3.45pm: Rap and poetry celebration (for teenagers).
