The Fort went Wild!
The Fort invited families to Go Wild at a special free event to celebrate nature on Thursday 27 July. There was lots of fun and interesting things for youngsters to enjoy.
We partnered with our landscapers Nurture to run a workshop on the day planting seeds with youngsters.
The Sutton Coldfield and North Birmingham Beekeepers Association were there to chat to families about bees. They brought along a demonstration hive with bees to show shoppers how they make honey.
Birmingham’s Creature Encounters brought along their newest creation Pip the Polar Bear who was joined by a tricycle riding orangutan. A host of vibrant street performers were there to create theatre on the day, including giant sunflowers and a Venus flytrap – perfect for selfies.
Youngsters were encouraged to make nature weaves, bug glasses and lots more in the free Bugs Life craft workshop.
