The Phoenix Children's Foundation Petting Zoo

26th April

We will be joined by The Phoenix Children’s Foundation who will be bringing Shetland Ponies and Lambs to The Fort on the 26th April!

The Phoenix Children’s Foundation was established in 2006 with the aim of enriching and enhancing the lives of young people and their families living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity.

PRESS STATEMENT We have engaged the services of experienced animal handlers and registered charity, The Phoenix Children’s Foundation to bring their beautiful miniature Shetland ponies to visit us. The ponies, which were born in the UK, are cared for to extremely high standards and live locally in Leicestershire. They will travel the short journey from their base in a large horse box and will be located close to an experienced handler with access to water, food and with the freedom to move around. They will have space to lie down, sleep and back away from the public if they need to, however these ponies love attention and fuss. The handlers coming with them care for the ponies on a daily basis and will be on hand to educate and inform the public about these beautiful creatures. The welfare of these animals is the top priority for both The Phoenix Children’s Foundation, and we would not do anything to cause stress to the ponies. All proceeds from their visit will fund The Phoenix Children’s Foundation ongoing work to enrich and enhance the lives of youngsters and their families living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity within the Leicestershire area.
