Opening Times

National Christmas Jumper Day

Suddenly we’re very aware of how fast Christmas is approaching. Which means National Christmas Jumper day is even closer and we’ve still not bought one for this year. So we thought we’d have a peak around the shops (carefully avoiding the Black Friday madness of course). We were actually pleasantly surprised by how nice the range was in the shops. Usually we just end up picking the best of a bad bunch, but we really enjoyed shopping for one, so we’ve decided to whip up a blog to help all of you Christmas loving fanatics… and even for the rest of you grinches!

First we hit Primark, we’d heard a few good things this year about their range so thought we’d pop in to see what all the fuss was about.

First impressions? We LOVED it!
There was something for everyone, whether you could qualify for being one of Santa’s very own elves or you prefer to keep it on the subtle side, we can guarantee you’re going to find one that suits you, especially if you’re looking to keep it on the cheaper side.

We strolled into Debenhams still obsessing over the pug reindeer jumper in Primark…
but not for too long!

Debenhams collection definitely had a few on the cheesy side, but who doesn’t love a bit of cheese at Christmas?
Our favourite had to be from the Men’s collection, it was the Burton blue ‘ReinBeers’ jumper. This would make a great Christmas present for any young lad and it would be the perfect thing to wear for Christmas Jumper Day.

River Island have some gorgeous jumpers in stock, however there aren’t many that are overly Christmasy. It’s perfect for people who don’t want to look like Scrooge by wearing normal clothes but still don’t want to walk out head to toe in tinsel. In the men’s section they had a few more options, we adored the polar bear jumper but if it’s not your cup of tea, the T-Rex in a Christmas hat is fantastic, it’s definitely going to be a hit with Jurassic Park fans.

Next really upped their game this year. Instead of opting for only traditional Christmas jumpers, they threw some humorous and sassy ones into the mix and we fell in love with them. If you love a glass of prosecco then you’re going to go mad for their prosecco jumper! We also loved the ‘Rein it in Deer’ men’s jumper, it’s perfect for you lads who want to participate but don’t want to look like a Christmas tree.

At H&M, their women’s section kept it on the subtle side, with either a gentle Christmas pattern or phrase. In the men’s however, they took a more in your face approach. Anyone who loves bold Christmas prints or novelty jumpers will absolutely love these. Our personal favourite from the men’s section is the ‘Feliz Navidog’ jumper, because who doesn’t love dogs!

As we continued hunting for the best possible jumper, we started to get a bit ‘Christmased’ out. So we decided to make this store the last.

Enter New Look!
Our first impressions of their range was great, they had something for everyone, from reindeer lovers, the selfie obsessed elf and banter claus himself.
This range was one of our favourites so far, it really made it difficult to choose just one!

Once we reviewed our choices, we decided that we’d choose a men’s and a women’s option. It was quite difficult to choose a female option, but in the end we narrowed it down to Next’s Prosecco jumper… because who doesn’t love a cheeky glass of prosecco, especially at Christmas! For the men’s section, we loved the humorous ones, but there was a clear favourite to us and that was River Island’s polar bear jumper!
